The most frequently asked questions and answers for this product are:

Question 1: Mlc or tlc? thanks
Answer 1: ‘Quite surprisingly, the SSD Plus isn’t based on TLC NAND, but uses SanDisk’s second generation 19nm MLC NAND instead, similar to the high-end Extreme Pro. SanDisk didn’t really go into detail about the hardware itself, so at this point I’m not sure where the cost savings are coming from (perhaps it’s just lower binned MLC).’ http://www.anandtech.com/show/8827/sandisk-announces-entrylevel-ssd-plus-ultra-ii-msata

Question 2: Does it come with the required sata cable.
Answer 2: You can purchase a SATA cable here on Amazon but you only need one if it’s a desktop computer and not a laptop. If you have a laptop, you don’t need a SATA cable. But for the desktop, it’s a standard SATA cable, just search for it in the Amazon search bar.

Question 3: Is this compatible and does it fit a late 2011 macbook pro to replace the sata disk hard drive?

Answer 3: Yes. The ‘Unibody’ MacBook Pro models are compatible with a 2.5-inch (notebook) SATA drive at as much as 9.5mm thick. http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/macbook-pro-unibody-faq/macbook-pro-13-15-17-mid-2009-how-to-upgrade-hard-drive-ssd.html This Sandisk SSD is the 7mm form factor, however, I don’t think it’s significant because Apple uses the screw heads to hold the drive in place. You can view the installation (instructions) for free at OWC https://eshop.macsales.com/installvideos/ — the ‘Early 2011’ revision is identical in procedure to your ‘Late 2011’

Question 4: Can i use ‘create system image and repair disc’ to install windows 7 os on new drive?

Answer 4: Yes you can. Go to YouTube and it will show you exactly how.

The most frequently asked questions and answers for this product are:

Question 1: Does it come with cloning software? pny ssd comes with one. so i want to make sure if it does?
Answer 1: Hey Vineet Chawla,The Kingston A400 series SSD does not include drive cloning software or SATA cables. It is intended for users who refer to use their existing cloning tools and hardware with the SSD. If you do require cloning software, you may want to look into a Windows PC based application titled ‘Reflect’ by Macrium, or Carbon Copy for Mac computers. Either application is available free to download from the internet. Thank you! – Chris @KingstonTechnology

Question 2: i have a toshiba satellite with serial ata-150 interface. will SATA-3 interface drives work?
Answer 2: https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/SA400S37_us.pdf – as we can see a manual, A400 SSD supports only SATA III and SATA II. After all, it makes sense – when we talk about SSD, first what we ask for is speed. It’s not as good to use it even on SATA II as theoritical speed is half of SATA III. You wouldn’t observe any improvement on SATA 1.5 if it were able to use.
Question 3: will this fit a toshiba satellite 2 in 1 laptop? who will be doing the installation and data transfer?
Answer 3: We would need more specifications on your laptop to know answers to that part of the question (would it fit), but on the other part of the question – YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TRANSFER OF DATA and installation of the drive (unless you took the system and drive to someone you are paying to do that work)

The most commonly seen questions and answers for this product are:

Question 1: Will this work with a ps4?

Answer 1: Yes was perfect

Question 2: Any 2.5′ ssd will work in any laptop that takes a 2.5′ drive. they also will work in any desktop tower or imac okay?

Answer 2: Be careful with the iMac. If you have an earlier dual drive (HDD + SSD) I think it will fit in place of the original (2010-2011) but the later models have module type SSDs. It can replace the HDD in any, but you MUST have the special temperature sensor kit from OWC (macsales.com) but it’s available on Amazon. Just search iMac temperature sensor or similar.

Question 3: will this fit in desktop

Answer 3: Of course. It’s smaller than a 3.5′ which is what you have now most likely. You may want to get a mounting bracket for it though as most 2.5′ SSD drives don’t come with one but you can certainly plug it in and just set in in the floppy bay as well. They’re so light and usually plastic anyway so unless you literally kick or drop your oc very hard it isn’t going to come unugged lol. I’ve literally just left them hanging inside as I do a lot of cloning and don’t want to keep unmou ting and mounting them just for an hour long process before it gets out in a permanent home.

Question 4: Will this sandisk 500 gb work with mac book pro late 2011 13′ ?

Answer 4: You’ll need a thermal sensor for any year on any mac without the thermal sensor the fan will run full speed constantly. The ssd’s aren’t equipped with thermal sensors. OWC sells them.

Answer 3: It will work, but it is an internal drive. You will need a free SATA cable slot on your mother board to connect it. If you do not have a free SATA slot you can get an expansion card for your PCI or PCIE slots. If all this makes no sense to you, then you should probably hire someone to install it.

Question 4: Hi. Will this be compatible with a mac book pro mid 2012 and a dell vostro v130 2011?.

Answer 4: I have used SSD in my Macbook Pro 2012 non retina without issue but it wasn’t this drive nevertheless I don’t think it should be a problem.

The most frequently seen questions and answers for this product are:

Question 1: whats the benefits of the pro over the evo?

Answer 1: The primary difference between pro and EVO models is the type of NAND chips. The EVO drives use less expensive TLC NAND and the PRO uses MLC NAND. The primary advantages of using MLC is higher write speeds and higher write endurance. TLC NAND generally will wear out before MLC NAND does. This is important if you do a lot of writing to your drive as in processing 4k video for example. For nearly everyone, a drive utilizing TLC NAND has more than enough resilience and the drive will become obsolete long before it wears out and fails.

Question 2: Is this mlc or tlc?

Answer 2: According to Samsung’s website, it is ‘Samsung V-NAND 2bit MLC’.

Question 4: Will the nas work in a mac system?

Answer 4: Don’t really know about Macs but I suspect it will.
