The most commonly seen questions and answers for this product are:

Can an adapter and propane tank be used with this burner?

Yes, I purchased a 5 foot hose with adapter and connected my stove to a 20lbs. tank with no problems. My family goes camping often and my sister also uses this method for week long camping vacations. The small propane tanks don’t last long enough and packing/buying multiples is inconvenient and just not cost effective. The stove performs just fine and the extra length allows me to place the tank a safe distance. I purchased the high pressure adapter hose here on Amazon (Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adapter). Hope this helps…

What type of connector do I need for this Coleman Stove? I see many types but do not know which one to buy

it comes with the connector. you don’t need to worry about that as long as you buy the small, green, one-use propane canisters.

The most frequently asked questions and answers for this product are:

I'm looking for an oven for an rv. Now I'd imagine I'd have to probably open a window when in use but how hot does it get to the touch on the outside?
spoke to CampChef directly. The unit gets so hot that if you put it on a plastic table (the solid ones with kick out legs), it will melt the table. They do no recommend using it on a wooden picnic table unless you place sheet metal under it as it will burn the table. They state a minimum of 1 foot clearance on all sides.
will the oven fit a 13 x 9 pan?
s and no. Technically, it will fit a 13×9 pan. However, it bakes best with a smaller pan that allows more air to circulate around the pan. Whenever I’ve tried to use a 13×9 or similar pan (eg, a standard 12-muffin pan), the outsides have cooked while the insides remain raw. Or the outsides overcook before the center is done. I get much better results using a half muffin tin (6 muffins) or a smaller 9×9 casserole. Hope this helps! – tkh
can this be used indoors for self sustainable living if the propane tank is kept outside and connection is through the wall?
at should be fine as long as there are enough room for ventilation around the Unit
How hot do the two top burners cook at? Can you simmer things without burning them?
have not used the burners on the top yet. But I’m sure it will simmer for you. If you have ever cooked with gas or propane you know you just need to keep the flame very low and keep an extra eye on it until you get use to it. Enjoy

1) I've never purchased a camping stove before and not sure what to expect--in all regards....really... 🙂 But, to be clear, do I need to purchase a hose and/or connector for a propane tank or does that come with the purchase of the stove?
u will need a hose to connect to a large propane tank but there is a connector for the small bottles. BTW, this stove is the bomb. When we lost power this past Thanksgiving, EVERYTHING that needed to be cooked on a stovetop we cooked on this stove because the turkey was in the oven and our generator wouldn’t support the oven and burners. The stove performed wonderfully!
Is there an attachment for the hose from a 20 lb propane bottle?
ere is an extension hose built for this purpose and it is designed to accommadate the regulator built into the camp chef stove!
Will this support the lodge 20' by 10.44 inch griddle without removing the wind flaps?
got it out and measured it. it will take the griddle you present. 3/4 inch space each end of 20 inches with wings up. the 10 inch side has 3/4 in in back and no limit in front. hope this was helpful.
Do the side flaps come off or fold outward all the way so that a longer griddle can be used?
s they fold inward.

The most frequently seen questions and answers for this product are:

Does it come with butane?
it does not. You can buy the cans at chef supply stores, some camping stores or look for Butane Fuel GasOne Canisters on Amazon.
In one canister, how many breakfasts can I make (say hard boiled eggs & bacon)?
! You can probably cook 5-10 breakfasts. One 8oz canister lasts 2-8 hours depending on the flame (low-medium-high). Using a high flame, it is probably 2 hours, and a low flame up to 8 hours. When I tested the flame, it was like a regular gas stove flame. I have not cooked anything on the stove yet. If you cook inside, make sure you have adequate ventilation because the stove is NOT intended for inside use. Check out the description of Gasone Butane Cannisters. Hope this response helps.
Can it get a pan up to 375 degrees F?
assume that you intend to do burner top baking. The answer is ‘not likely’ but you can still bake, use a heavy pa to more evenly distribute the heat (a 8 inch cast iron is great) or a ceramic or iron dutch oven. The dutch will hit 350. Extend your baking time by 25% but check whats happening on the bottom of the food item frequently…if charring, cut back the heat and extend the time. I do biscuits and soda bread in a cast iron pan but I have a cast iron lid also.
Can I use a 13' sautee pan on this stove, or do I have to just use small pans?
is stove exceeded my expectations in every way. Ran a whole camp kitchen off just one. Including a shrimp boil for 10. VERY household burner like.

Seems plenty of the reviews have noted this is not an insta-start stove as described. which is correct? the reviews or the product description?
e reviews are correct. I, like you, thought the product description must be correct and that the reviewers simply mistakenly ordered the wrong product or something, so I ordered the stove since it said it was the newer model. In fact it does not have the insta start. Here’s how you can tell from the product photo: the instastart button is a red button on the left lower side of the stove. Not there on this model. I sent it back and was able to pick one up at REI in time for our trip that had the instastart button and it worked great. REI also has a sale right now on a different (more upscale) camp stove that is even less than the Coleman Triton.
What is the difference between this triton model and the Coleman classic stove?
just got off the phone with Coleman today (7/23/16)…I confirmed with them that the burner control knobs are the SAME construction as the Classic Stove. It is a bit larger, but the basic workings are the same.I bought a Classic at Walmart and have read those reviews re: the control of the flame. The Triton and the Classic can both have the same issue of hard to control flame. The ‘repair’ outlined with the Classic should also work with the Triton…I am referring to the Triton 20953, which does not have Instastart. But the actual controls with the knobs are all the same….
Which latch does this model come with? Most pictures show a large black latch, but 2 pics have the small cheap silver latch that's on the classic.
ne is a wide black latch. Works great
Can this stove be attached to a propane tank?
believe so, with the proper connections bought separately. This was ordered to deal with the lack of electricity we’ve had to live with here in Puerto Rico after hurricane María, and I know of others who made that type of connection.
